
Frediano Finucci
Frediano Finucci is a senior TV journalist, chief editor of the Economics-Foreign Affairs desk at La7 broadcaster where he also hosts the TV Programme “Omnibus”. Previously, for the same TV channel, he was the Chief Editor of the Economic section, the manager for the nightly news outlet and the Chief Editor of the Foreign Affairs section. From 2003 to 2006, Mr Finucci was correspondent in Brussels. In 2009 was also appointed Chief Editor of “Otto e Mezzo”, the popular prime time news-program anchored by Lilli Gruber. Since 1992 he has worked for different media as a judicial reporter on the “Mani Pulite” (clean hands) enquiry.
Mr. Finucci holds a degree in History of International Relations from the “Cesare Alfieri” School of Political Sciences in Florence with a thesis on the media manipulation in the war in Jugoslavia (1991-1992). He attended courses and seminars at the NATO Defense College (NDC) at the ECB (2008, 2017, 2018) at the EU Commission, at the European Journalism Center in Maastrich.
He lectured at the NDC, at the UK Defence College and at some universities (Milwaukee, Edinburgh, Florence, Università Cattolica of Milan).
Mr. Finucci is the author of the insightful non-fiction book Operazione Satellite which explores the strategic and geopolitical roles of satellites in contemporary conflicts. The book has been published in English (The Great Game of Satellites) and in French (La guerre des Satellites). His work earned the Italian Cerruglio National Non-Fiction Award, recognizing the book’s originality and relevance in analyzing space technology’s impact on modern geopolitical dynamics.
Mr. Finucci is the coordinator of a space journalism school organised by them Italian university LUISS and the European Space Policy Institute based in Vienna.
Mr. Finucci is also editorial director of a series of books on foreign policy and economics called ‘Hic sunt leones’ published by the Italian publishing house Paesi Edizioni.
